Apologies for the quietude around here. Turns out paternity leave is full of the eating of bon-bons and long, leisurely naps, leaving little time for blogging. Who knew?

Anyhoo, one of the things occupying me lately is getting things in order for the Society for News Design Quick Course in Portland on June 23. Y’all come! We’ve got Tim Harrower, Michael Whitley and Martin Gee on board (and more!). I’ve set up a website with all sorts of info, including a blog, which will keep you advised of updates and changes.

If you’re coming from a distance, note that you should book your hotel by Friday to get the good rate.

Heads up: After you hit "post" things may be slow and you may get an error. Most likely, your comment did post. Apologies. I'm looking for a fix.

Is this a Quick Course first? How does one choose between Portland and Atlanta?!

Hey, for those of us who have to go design newspapers Saturday evening, what time is this happening? Is there a point to showing up for the morning?
