Ninja master Martin Gee of the Chicago Tribune is heading to the San Jose Mercury News, Charles Apple reports.
Martin has worked for the Trib a little more than a year. Before that, he spent four years working for the House of Blues and, before that, two years at the Orange County Register. He had interned at the Miami Herald and, yes, the San Jose Mercury News as a student at San Jose State University. So this is a chance for Martin to go home.
Congratulations, you do an amazing job! good luck! I see your web page, beautiful designs and illustrations. Good job Martin.
It's always good to see those House of Blues workers getting on at newspapers. You just can't have enough of them.

wow. i made it on newsdesigner! i have arrived. ;) i'm still waiting for a run-in with wordhawk.
hey sue! where are you now?
thanks again. =)
Martin, The west coast brought me back as well. I'm at the Sac Bee. It's been a great return!
The Merc owes us, big time. Martin's time at the Tribune was short but eventful. His work at RedEye and here at the Blue paper inspired us all to aim higher and think bigger. We already miss him, but we know how much he missed home. Chicago won't be nearly as warm and sunny without him.
Posted by: Joe Knowles at May 17, 2006 7:39 PMMartin-congrats on your big move back home. I know there will be new kickin' stuff to see in The Merc. I'll be sure and send you some kinda hollar when I figure out this big 'ol city called Chicago. Good mojo to you and all the ninjas in Cali!
