Remember that little problem Quark had with their new logo last fall? They've tried again. The internets are not impressed.
The greatest sign of a brand that doesn't know what they're doing: They drop a logo within six months.

Posted by: Dean Lockwood at March 21, 2006 1:49 PMLet me throw out a counterpoint. The Quark logo trotted out a few months ago was exactly the form the Scottish Arts Council uses. Did they did an "oops" and trot out a new identity to make up for that mistake? I'll bet that's what happened. And I'll bet the folks at Quark were embarrassed when the design community pointed out their foulup.
Posted by: Douglas E. Jessmer at March 23, 2006 10:16 PMThe issue is not that it is 3D. The new logo is simply awful. Look how queer the white space of what appears to be the tail of letter Q -- the shape doesn't blend with its circular motif. It's totally the opposite of the simplicity of its previous blunder. It looks like it's done by the CEO's favorite niece.
Posted by: Adonis Durado at March 27, 2006 12:56 AMCorporate identity should be simple, clean and easy on the eyes. I'll agree the logo is far too complicated. It sort of comes across like a recessed push-button with a funny-looking Q on it. It ain't no "easy button," that's for sure:
(doesn't know HTML, sorry)
