

El Economista, a new full-color business paper, launched in Madrid on Tuesday. It was founded by Alfonso de Salas, former president of El Mundo, and designed by a team of consultants from the Innovation International Media Consulting Group led by Javier Errea. They worked with Miguel Buckenmeyer, El Economista's art director.

the simple and minimalist flag really stands out. even the choice of what looks like bodoni for the nameplate jibes well with the predominantly sans serif typography of the headlines. orange is the color of the moment. i like it too.

Gannet is an American creation. mario garcia keeps giving this sermon of emulating the european compacts with its elan and practicality. in that regard i agree with him. color is "value-free." it is people who assign meaning to it.
