The Times in Shreveport, La. (Gannett, 61,800 daily, 76,100 Sunday), is considering converting to the Berliner format, Newspapers & Technology reports.

[Gannett vice president of production Austin] Ryan, speaking at last week’s Press and Production Symposium sponsored by the Inland Press Association, said no final decision has been made as to how The Times will upgrade its aging press, but that the move to consider the smaller format is driven in part “to be more flexible and accommodating to both advertiser and reader demands.”
