They're Ready for Some Football

Sure a major American city (in the South, even!) is descending into anarchy, but in Columbia, S.C., it's football season!

Louisiana Lafayette (which is taking in New Orleans students, along with LSU, UH, Rice, TSU, UT,...) will be in Austin for opening day on Saturday against Texas.
I expect the stadium (and the parking lots) to be full of Texas fans. Damn the $3.00 gas, alumni will drive across the state to see some football! Just hope there's enough gas in Austin to get us home.

There was a nice photo in the Houston Chronicle of some children refugees taking in the University of Houston football game Thursday night. Good to see smiles.
