Heads up: After you hit "post" things may be slow and you may get an error. Most likely, your comment did post. Apologies. I'm looking for a fix.

Some design comments (since this is a designer blog):

In my opinion, the best choice of a lead photo is the double-decker bus, one of the worldwide symbols of London. Showing a random casualty as a main image doesn't really tell me what happened, other than one person got hurt. The subway pics weren't bad either (though does the bloody guy on the Daily Express look like Tony Blair??)

I understand where the Irish Independent was going with that headline. . it's an awesome quote, but it would be better served as a overline with a regular bold hed beneath. . .I was slightly confused until I "got it," and headlines for disasters should leave no confusion.

The lady with the white plaster mask freaked me out. And didn't really express the disaster much. (She could have been an art project -- I've had those masks done in class.)

"The Day we Knew Would Come"? I dont' live in London, but I wonder if that's how everyone felt. That headline gave me the creeps.

My favorites: The Sun (sensational but sometimes you need that), The Guardian (understated but powerful), Daily Mirror and Daily Express (very similar but well done), Daily Mail (my No. 1 pick) and Daily Star (I think I saw that hed on 9/11, maybe San Francisco?).
