YEAR-END LINK CLOSE-OUT

10:44 AM, December 31, 2004

Gotta get these links off the floor to make room for the 2005s!

  • Apparently this site is one of Yahoo's Picks of the Day. I can think of nothing more original to add than yahoo.gif

  • SND/Scandinavia is inviting European newspapers to enter a front page competition. Entries must be in by Jan. 15. Download an entry form (PDF) here.

  • Don't miss Mario Garcia himself commenting today on my post earlier this week about the Indian newspaper Malayala Manorama.

  • You might want to check out this new weblog by Alan Mutter, Silicon Valley CEO and former newspaper guy: "Reflections of a Newsosaur: Musings and (occasional urgent warnings) of a veteran media executive, who fears our news-gathering companies are stumbling to extinction."

  • Am I the only one that thinks the AP survey of the "Top 10 stories of the year" we all run every year is kind of silly? It looks especially odd when one of the biggest stories of the decade is currently unfolding and not on the list.

Happy New Year, everybody, and thanks for reading this year!

Heads up: After you hit "post" things may be slow and you may get an error. Most likely, your comment did post. Apologies. I'm looking for a fix.

I don't who you had to bribe at Yahoo! but it was so worth it to see you there and then laugh at how you incorporated their logo to finish your sentence romoting the link. Brilliant.

(Now, shoot me the name of your mole so I can get VizEds on that list. . . )
