So the NYTimes has this gossip column called "Boldfaced Names." As you would expect from the Gray Lady doing gossip, it's not actually, you know, interesting. And it does hilariously pretentious things like refer to Harvey Pekar as "the Oblomov of the thought bubble" (Take that Page Six! You may have J. Lo, but we have 19th century Russian Realism!) But apparently they've just started running this thing in the national edition so all of us yahoos in flyover country (you know, the part of the country with electricity) can become Enlightened. Today we get this gem (emphasis mine):
Also on the red carpet was PAUL GIAMATTI, who played Mr. Pekar in the movie, and is known for his many roles as a schlub. (Note to our new national edition readers: that means "loser.")Golly gee! Thanks Times!
